How we label prices on Before I Book
Before I Book separates clinic-published prices, patient-submitted prices, verified submissions and unverified online reports so visitors can understand where a price came from and how much weight to give it.
Evidence labels
What each price label means
Different types of price evidence are useful, but they are not equally strong. We label them so users can compare information more fairly.
Clinic-published price
A price found on the clinic or provider’s own website, price list, fee guide or booking information. These are usually advertised starting prices and may not include every extra.
Clinic-published inclusion info
The clinic describes what is included or how the treatment is assessed, but a clear fixed price was not available or not directly comparable.
Patient-submitted price
A price submitted directly to Before I Book by a user. It reflects that person’s reported experience and may depend on their individual treatment.
Verified patient-submitted price
A patient-submitted price where supporting proof, such as a receipt, quote or booking confirmation, has been reviewed for moderation. Proof is not published publicly.
Unverified online report
A price reported publicly in an online discussion or review. These examples can show real-world variation, but they are not verified by Before I Book.
Published guide or market report
A price range or example taken from a published guide, comparison page or market report. It should be treated as a guide, not a clinic-specific quote.
Review footprint
What “Public review footprint” means
Public review footprint is an approximate measure of how much public review volume we found for a clinic or provider across visible online sources. It is not a rating, ranking or endorsement.
We use broad bands rather than exact star ratings because review counts can change, sources vary, and ratings do not necessarily reflect clinical quality, safety or outcome.
Footprint bands
Low: under 50 public reviews found
Medium: 50–300 public reviews found
High: 300–1,000 public reviews found
Very high: 1,000+ public reviews found
Important limitations
Prices are examples, not final quotes
Private clinic prices can change and often depend on suitability, location, treatment method, complexity and what is included.
“From” prices can be incomplete
A starting price may exclude consultation, tests, histology, prescriptions, theatre fees, aftercare, storage, add-ons or follow-up.
One patient’s price may not apply to another
Lesion size, number of lesions, treatment area, medication dose, fertility package, implant complexity or clinical risk can change the final price.
Prices can change after we check them
We include a checked date where possible, but users should always confirm the current total directly with the clinic before booking.
Corrections
Clinics and users can flag updates
If a price appears outdated, incomplete or incorrectly described, it can be corrected or removed. The aim is useful price transparency, not clinic ranking or criticism.
